YSR ASARA Scheme: Millions of women from poverty-stricken backgrounds have been enforced to take a loan against the crop, healthcare, their children’s education, and more with interest rates.
As a result, it causes a huge burden on them and not be able to clear the loan and debts which is beyond their ability to clear loans with a higher interest rate. It was one of the election poll promises made by the then opposition leader YS Jagan Mohan Reddy during his election campaign to clear the Loan taken by women belonging to a self-help group.

During his 3,648- km padayatra, he witnessed how the DWACRA groups have been deceived by the previous government and assured to clear the loans as on April 11, 2019, in four installments.
Andhra Pradesh CM has assured that the Government of Andhra Pradesh will waive the loan taken by all the women members belonging to self-help groups of SC, ST, BC, and minority communities as on 11th April in four installments. It is the first installment of the scheme.
