YSR Jala Kala – Free Borewell To Farmers: Andhra Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has made several reforms in agriculture, health and education, and more. Moreover, AP Govt is striving hard to help the farming community like never before.

Now the state Govt has announced a free Borewell scheme for farmers. As we know that farmers are facing hardships in getting sufficient water to crops and the level of the water body is getting reduced every year.

AP Govt, therefore, to mitigate the hardships of farmers, will be launching the ‘YSR Jala Kala Scheme’ aimed at drilling borewells for farmers for free. This scheme as part of YSR Rythu Bharosa is set to launch at his camp office on September 28.

Theprestigious scheme worth Rs 2,340 crores, will provide irrigation water to five lakh acres. As one of the poll promises made by YS Jagan during his campaign Praja Sankalpa Padayatra, AP CM will fulfill farmers’ wishes.    

How to Apply:  

Farmers who are willing to make use of this scheme can visit their village secretaries (grama sachivalayam) with help of village volunteers.

The State Govt, to reduce the work burden on farmers, has introduced online enrollment for the applicants.

The applications, after being processed at the VRO level, will be moved to the concerned department for surveying the land for underground water resources.

The applications will get the administrative sanction, after clearance of the geology department. Following this, the assigned contractor starts drilling borewells.

Exclusive software has been designed to make sure that no malfunctions take place at every state. Under this scheme, the AP Govt has allocated Rs. 2,340 crores for executing this scheme.  

Who can avail this scheme:

This scheme can only be availed by the farmers who own below five-acre agricultural land. Farmers can apply at their Panchayat level secretary office.
