The much-awaited Malayalam multi-starrer Patriot is finally gearing up for its OTT release. Directed by Mahesh Narayanan, the film features two of Malayalam cinema’s biggest stars, Mammootty and Mohanlal, in powerful lead roles.
The makers have now confirmed that the film will start streaming on ZEE5 from June 5, making it one of the most anticipated OTT premieres in recent times.
Right from its announcement, Patriot has been creating huge buzz among movie lovers because of its grand scale and impressive ensemble cast. Industry reports suggest that the film is among the highest-budget productions ever made in Malayalam cinema, which has further increased expectations.
Mahesh Narayanan has taken charge as director, writer, and co-editor for the project, while Anto Joseph and K G Anil Kumar have bankrolled the film on a lavish budget.
In the movie, Mammootty plays the role of Dr. Daniel James, while Mohanlal appears as Col. Rahim Naik. The collaboration between these legendary actors has become one of the major attractions of the film.
Apart from the lead stars, the movie also features Fahadh Faasil, Kunchacko Boban, Nayanthara, and Revathi in key roles.
The supporting cast includes Darshana Rajendran, Rajiv Menon, Vineeth Thattil David, Prakash Belawadi, Grace Antony, and Indrans, adding more strength to the already star-loaded project.
