The wait for the digital release of the Telugu horror-thriller “Eesha” seemed to be over when news broke today that the film had arrived on Amazon Prime Video. However, excitement quickly turned to frustration for domestic fans as they realized they were unable to access the movie.
While the film has indeed made its OTT debut, a major catch regarding its availability has left Indian netizens disappointed.

Eesha Streaming on Prime Video: The Twist
Reports confirm that Amazon Prime Video has started streaming Eesha as of February 17, 2026. However, the release is currently restricted to international markets, specifically the United Kingdom (UK) and select other territories.
Adding to the disappointment, the film is reportedly available overseas on a “Rent” basis rather than being free for Prime subscribers. When Indian users search for the title on the app, they are either met with a “This video is currently unavailable” message or no results at all.
Why Are Indian Fans Disappointed?
It has been nearly two months since Eesha hit theaters (released on December 25, 2025). Usually, Telugu films land on OTT platforms within 4-6 weeks of their theatrical run. Fans of Hebah Patel and Siri Hanmanth were eager to catch the horror flick online, especially after missing it in cinemas.
Social media platforms like X (formerly Twitter) are seeing users question why a Telugu film would premiere for international audiences while being “geo-locked” for its home audience in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
When Will Eesha Release in India?
As of now, there is no official confirmation regarding the India streaming date.
Speculation: Industry insiders suggest that the “International First” strategy might be a test run, or there could be a clearance delay for the Indian region.
Expected Date: It is likely that the film will become available to Indian subscribers within the next 1-2 weeks, possibly once the rental window abroad closes.
