Movie Verdict
We’ve seen a lot of films based on Cast, honor killing, and this one falls into the same genre, but the rural setting and love story might keep the audience engaged.
The film’s makers have claimed in promotional materials that it will “certainly link you,” but this is not a film for everyone. The film begins nicely, and the love moments were beautifully planned, but the backdrop of the film didn’t land properly.
As Suri Gagan Vihari does credit to his character and Aparna Devi as Nagamalli effortlessly pulls it off as a Telangana Nagamalli from Kerala. The rest of the cast is just acceptable.
Jagath’s love scenes were well-designed, but the plot itself was not innovative enough for the viewer to care.
Filming in a village meant that the cinematography was not up to par and the colors were over-saturated, which was not impressive. The music of Osho Venkat is the backbone of the film; he orchestrates numerous moments only via the use of his score.
Lastly, the 1996 Dharmapuri film is a one-time-watch film for individuals who enjoy rural backdrops and pakka commercial components in their flicks.
