Movie Verdict
As one of the best recent crime thrillers, Salute is based on a real-life story that’s easy to relate to. However, it does take some time to get into the movie’s main plot, while the director takes time establishing his protagonist’s world in order to connect with the audience, which was a minor drawback for the film.
The script drags a bit, but Dulquer Salmaan’s intense performance kept the movie interesting. The director, Rosshan Andrrews, did an admirable job sticking to the content and not trying to add any unwanted commercial elements. The rest of the cast also did a commendable job.
Jakes Bejoy’s music is one of the film’s most memorable aspects, and Aslam K Purayil, a technically brilliant cinematographer, captured the premise and visuals in a way that felt completely natural.
All languages are available on SonyLiv for the crime thriller Salute.
